Anniversarial Drop Off

My Favorite Panamanian came up with a plan late Saturday night that involved a quick trip up to New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon. We had a couple things my Favorite Son forgot at the house as well as a couple presents for them and the BRS. Life in Pandemia is such that a quick trip like this is the source of real pleasure. Unfortunately, it also brought risk to our planned trip to New Jersey which required a two week quarantine after I finished going into work.

The BRS was beside herself with the new dresses her abuela acquired for her, especially a Disney princess dress. Something she has in common with the FBR who is seldom without one nearby. I’m not fully up to speed on Disney princesses (don’t tell me granddaughters that!) but I think this one was Belle from Beauty and the Beast. In a Facetime call later yesterday the BRS was swirling around the house in the gown.

The rest of the day was spent negotiating some really tough Sunday traffic with the trip home taking nearly twice as long but the time was worth it to see the look on the BRS’ face. Once the sun had nearly set my wife finally allowed me outside (this is a normal development after one of my dermatologist visits). I was out in the front yard pulling weeds from the lawn. I guess that means I really am retired but I haven’t taken to yelling at anyone stepping on the lawn yet, so I have that going for me. Speaking of that dermatology visit I’ve produced two more basal cancer cell spots which means another round of Mohs surgery in September. This makes the fifth time! My wife semi-jokingly said she’ll have to start referring to me as her Frankenstein monster. You young people – USE SUN BLOCK!  I also knocked out the next in the Alien movie watch with Alien 3 (definitely going into third place of the three I’ve watched so far).
