Normalcy Begins Maybe

Small and in Charge
I’m on the brink of achieving a sense of first floor normalcy or at least the closest I’ll come to it while still lacking the presence of a certain Panamanian. Last night I completed the return of virtually all the major furniture items and too numerous to chronicle houseplants to a reasonable facsimile of their original positions. It’s funny how the rhythms of life can be determined by the home environment but once I was finished last night I felt a sense of calm that I hadn’t fully realized was missing during the construction over the past month; humans are weird.
First Floor Re-established

With All the Plants
Weird doesn’t begin to describe the February weather this year. Just a couple weeks ago we had a couple blizzards which seemed to lock in a tough winter but temperatures yesterday neared seventy degrees! The two photos below illustrate the change using our mail box as a prop. One was taken just over a week ago and the other this morning. With March just around the corner I can sneakily start to see the end of winter weather. It seems a certain family move brought the California weather with them or it could be this whole global warming thing I’ve heard about, somewhere.

Supervisor on Duty
That move continued yesterday as more and more boxes fell victim to Wingman and Favorite Daughter’s efforts, effectively supervised by the First Blog Reader. This is the first home they’ve lived in since the arrival of their daughter that has stairs to be considered. They’ve installed some gates which the First Blog Reader is already testing, much to Winnie the Pooh’s distress. Since the diabolical feline of my Newark nightmares took up residence yesterday there are cat doors in the gates. Winnie was used as a test subject, poor Winnie.

The Detour
I’ve started to make a dent in the stack of movies that lay dormant for so long but that has caused a symbiotic rise in the DVR log. I watched the premiere of the new season The Detour which has to be the most inappropriate television comedy of all time and hopelessly funny. If you haven’t seen this show yet, check it out unless you are resolutely politically correct. Then your world might just be shattered. First Friday celebrations return today to their more customary location because let there be no doubt in anyone’s mind – today is the First Friday of the Week. It will therefore be properly recognized.
