I’m late to Frail Deeds today because I spent the entire day out on the future patio. While I chronicle each of the days for progress, until today all those days were about two hours long. I acquired forty bags of concrete to get started on the final phase – pouring the patio floor. This was not a lot of fun. From loading the bags off the shelf, then into the car, then out of the car to Deckzilla. To quote the original Tricky Dick, “My kingdom for a cement mixer!”. Although Dick’s original statement was more equine related, I understood the desperation. I started right after eight this morning and finished the last bag off around five. The hardest part was mixing each bag and then wishing it provided more product. I got it done however. Now I have just one more trip to Home Depot tonight. I figure another 25 bags should finish it off.
Where the Day Started
I
had company for most of the day as my Favorite Panamanian decided to spend some
time with her Deckzilla flower collection, transitioning to Mums, whatever that
means. She couldn’t resist offering a number of supervisory inquiries about my
technique. I learned fairly quickly that I should not ask her where she acquired
her heretofore unrevealed concrete expertise. I blame YouTube. The body feels
pretty beat up, mainly from having to twist while stirring the concrete. This
all ends tomorrow, unless the back gives out. So, 40 bags of concrete and two Tylenol
day. End of Day 31 Progress
Wife Took Some Photos of Today's Effort
One movie fell in my A-Z effort, a keeper: Anchorman, The Legend of Ron Burgundy (Well that escalated quickly).
