Cold Reception

Dad Time

My Favorite Panamanian’s return to northern climes has been marked by the start of a cold and attendant serial coughing. Before I was able to accuse her of being allergic to sub-70s temperatures she confessed the malady originated in Panama where her twin sister is fighting a similar illness. This certainly put a wet blanket on my planned reunion celebrations involving dinner out and maybe a movie or two. We contented ourselves with Man Cave time and watching the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry get a boost in the arm with some fisticuffs involved.
Cantankerous Friend and I
Today marks the birthday of one of the most talked about (and at) characters on Frail Deeds – the Cantankerous Friend. People who don’t know him sometimes have a hard time figuring him out because of his less than latent cantankerousness (something he’ll probably want to argue about). Those of us who do know him have seen the innate quality behind the thorny façade and one only has to look at the dedicated, selfless care he’s provided to his aging parents after he retired from the navy to see it.  Happy Birthday Chico! Thanks for all those great times at the Y while we were growing up.
Slip Sliding

Coming Down

Ready for Skate Park
The FBR down in New Jersey is enjoying what she refers to as her “Dad Day” where she is charge of Wingman all day long. They were at a playground with the FBR now flying down the slide, including head first. She and her dad are planning a day tomorrow at the skate park where she can zoom around on her scooter. The video below needs no explanation but I’m sure has made her abuela proud since it involves dancing. It’s interesting to note that the FBR feels the need to wear protective headgear while dancing. I know where those wild genes come from!
