Escape Day

Saturday's Destination

This will be mercifully (to my readers) short since I have to get ready to head to the airport shortly for to return to reality and less than tropical temperatures. I could not be happier about that despite the fun I’ve had down here avoiding responsibility. Yesterday was a good example as I was in no less than three separate malls and somehow survived. It didn’t hurt that the middle mall was serviced for the express purpose of seeing a movie.
Yesterday's Theater
I’ve seen so many movies that it’s rare I experience something new but yesterday certainly qualifies. I know this type theater is available at some places in the US but I’ve never been to one where the chairs tilt, wind, rain, and explosions are simulated in concert with the screen. The only movie available was one I saw last week, Hunter Killer, and it was a wild ride. A submarine movie allowed a liberal use of the water squirters and every time gunfire was used a puff of air was squirted on your neck. It was truly awesome.
I’m excited to get back mostly because I have an early morning wakeup and three + hour drive awaiting me tomorrow. As you can probably guess the only reason I would be excited about that prospect would be the destination of that kind of journey – one of my granddaughters. We head to New Jersey in the early morning hours in order to arrive in time for her three year old birthday party. I can’t wait.
Looks a little Colder There
