Thank you to the friends and family who sent messages of support about the loss of the Cousin with the Legendary Laugh. I passed them on to my Favorite Panamanian and she in turn informed her cousins’ family in Panama of the messages. Life has a funny way of turning itself around. I was still thinking about yesterday’s loss this morning when my daughter sent these pictures of the FBR heading out for her first day of First Grade this morning. Life does go on in all its small glories. There is nothing small about the effect of the FBR (as well as the BRS & BR3) in our lives. I’m so proud of her and her parents for the path they have trod together. These pictures were just what I needed (but does she have to look so old!?).
Daughter and FBR This Morning
I
asked them last night if the FBR was nervous about her first day back in school
and the FBR looked at me like I was ready for commitment to a mental institution.
She loves school and was avidly looking forward to meeting her new teacher and reuniting
with school friends she hadn’t seen over the summer. This is not how I remember
going back to school which involved a serious amount of lamenting about the end
of summer. I’m starting to see hints of the seasonal turn toward autumn, my favorite
time of year. The NFL starts back up tonight and we have trees easing towards their
annual color show. As I stated above, when you’re down, life has a way of
throwing you the proverbial bone, you just have to be ready to recognize it.
Thanks again for all the messages. An Official First Grader
On Their Way to the Bus Stop
Two
movies fell in my A-Z effort, both keepers, Bad Moms (Kathryn Hahn is a
national treasure) and Bad Santa (so weird to see Lorelai Gilmore acting
raunchy).So Proud of this Gal
