Date Night Fail and a Tree

Our mission yesterday, which we had no intention of not accepting, was to locate our Christmas tree for 2022. This is a little later than usual but I plead decisive engagement with granddaughters over the weekend. After a trip into the depths of Worcester to find a tailor and making room as the Worcester police excitingly converged on a bank enroute (who says Worcester can’t be stimulating) we wandered back to Charlton. This is where our favorite Christmas tree vendor is located and it was very cool being able to go during the day when there isn’t a big crowd (yet another retirement benefit). It was nostalgia on overdrive as we meandered through so many well remembered locations. If only the driveway hadn’t been so steep and the movie theater closer, but I digress.

Selecting Our Tree

Tree is Up!
This is one of the few granddaughterless activities that will get my Favorite Panamanian outside when the temperatures are below 60. The tree is up, I’ve put the lights on and have now been summarily excised from the situation. My wife will now take over the decorating. For some odd reason she says I’m not very good at this. I think it may have something to do with my complete lack of style. Just guessing here.

Still a Daddy's Girl
As we spent the afternoon on this adventure, our usual Tuesday date night was pushed later in the evening. We missed out on the matinees at the movie theater. I thought everything was still on track until I arrived at the ticket booth and was told the only seats available for the Knives Out movie were in the very front row. I know my Favorite Panamanian well enough to realize she wouldn’t spend the entire movie craning her beck to watch it. I had to pull her very unhappily from the popcorn line where she admitted she was jonesing for corn. We ended up watching a Dutch movie about hackers in the Man Cave home theater so it was similar to Pandemic Date Nights. She got her popcorn and the movie wasn’t half bad.

Two movies fell in my A-Z effort, both keepers, Chronicles of Narnia (found after being hidden by granddaughter reorganization of movie collection, some great images) and Clue (super funny 1989s black comedy, childhood crush Leslie Anne Warren spectacular)
