Getting Thankful

Last Photo from Saturday
My Wife, Keene Friend, Son, and I Setting Out on the day

Last night’s sleep was certifiable as completely and utterly needed after the over extension of what are apparently my waning physical abilities. The combination of construction work, pub crawling, and painting over the weekend made Monday barely tolerable. Of course, that is a state of nature for Mondays so the fact that I note it speaks volumes. We’re still picking up the pieces from the well spent time on Saturday. My son’s credit card and Great Aunt’s scarf were both rescued from the last bar by Keene Friend yesterday and are now back with the forces of good.
BRS in Giggle Mode
Certainly a buoy for the soul was our conversation with the granddaughters last night. The BRS was motoring and smiling almost non-stop during our talk. The ABFA walked into the room at one point and the BRS made a bee line for her and then paused to pick up Riggin’s leash still attached to the grandpuppy. Riggins took it all in stride and seems to be developing some real affection for the little dynamo.
FBR With her New Gymnastics Uni
My daughter stayed in the city for a Curbside Girls dinner so Wingman handled the FaceTime call responsibilities. We caught them in the middle of playdough cookie prep and the FBR was initially a little reticent to devote any attention to mere grandparents. Wingman cajoled her into talking with us and by the time we tried to end the call she would have nothing of it. She retrieved one of her play keyboards and started regaling us with songs. My wife and I even danced the hokie pokie to her immense delight. She’s been watching videos of her dad’s rock and roll days. When I complimented her on playing just like her dad she immediately began the intense head bobbing Wingman was famous for during his keyboarding days. We could not stop laughing. In the pictures below, my daughter complimented the FBR on her new pajamas and the FBR immediately launched into a series of modeling poses. The girl certainly has flair.

The best part is I’ll get to spend time with both granddaughters and three out of their four parents over the coming days – certainly grounds for being thankful on an almost cosmic level.
