Today is the day! Yep, today is the day my relationship with Mister Foley comes to a hopefully less than dramatic end. I’ve had a couple friends sending cryptic messages vi social media insinuating how painful it will be. My reaction at this point - Bring It On! It’s funny how you can adapt to just about anything and I certainly have over the pat ten days but I consider my penance for having a cancerous prostate to to be fully paid, at least when it comes to catheter time.
So Ready!
I’m excited for the incipient
freedom that comes with the removal and not the least because this is my favorite
time of year to be outside and being incarcerated, even if it is with an
extremely beautiful co-prisoner, is tedious to say the least. Speaking of my
co-prisoner, my Favorite Panamanian continues to be the best nurse possible.
She’s also been bugging me to teach her how to run the lawn mower since I’ll
still be restricted from doing that for couple weeks. I’ve told her not to get
too excited because it’s not as much fun as it looks. Of course, that begs the question,
how does mowing the lawn look like fun to anyone?
The FBR is starting to embrace my wife’s long held hope to learn Spanish. We practice a few words each day during out morning Facetime calls. It harkens back to when our children were the same age as the FBR and my wife spoke no English. It made for lively meals where they would speak to my wife in Spanish and me in English. I was kind of an idiot at the time and was worried their reliance on Spanish would put them behind the curve when they started school. I could not have been more wrong. Their facility with two languages was a boon instead of a hindrance.
