We’ve confirmed
who has the biggest adjustment to my recent retirement – my Favorite
Panamanian. She’s not used to having me around the house during the day and is
always less than appreciative when I have even mildly worded constructive
suggestions. This despite her own proclivity to dispense said recommendations
in my direction. Somehow, I think we’ll get through this. I’ve spent the last
two days organizing my Man Cave into a home office and repository for all my I Love
Me stuff.
It was a lot more work than I anticipated but I
enjoyed seeing all the familiar pictures and plaques from my office reappear. I
also enjoy the new office where I can play the nearby television full blast
without concern about bothering co-workers. Well, except for the aforementioned
spousal unit, I still haven’t convinced her to become a fan of bagpipe music.
In a major departure from her usual opinion on my decorating abilities she
actually approved of the new Man Cave. The New Office
I’ve included before and after pictures. The fridge and microwave are to the left of the TV, protected by nearby Bonecrusher. There’s actually room for more but that space will be reserved for the granddaughters as they grow up. As I watched more from Besson watch last night I noticed the family pictures around the TV and loved having them there to be noticed and enjoyed more regularly. Seeing pictures of friends and family has the effect on me to conjure the beloved memories associated with the people depicted. Probably why we have so many pictures.
I was back with my favorite skin delver yesterday for my semi-annual skin screening. Predictably she had to dig in for two biopsies, one of on the point of my nose and other on the back of my neck. Biopsies are something of a theme lately; 2020 continues to suck. The FBR immediately noticed the damaged proboscis and I tried explaining what was going on but eventually just said Gramps had a boo boo.
Cave has Three Swords!
We had
a Hurricane literally blow through yesterday as well. Hurricane Isias passed by
to our west so not a lot of rain but some hellacious winds. Earlier in the day
it knocked out power at for the FBR’s neighborhood. It also blew over a tree down
in Rhode Island which destroyed Great Aunt’s pool so the family did not escape
unscathed. This is the second time the neighbor’s tree has done this to their
pool. If it was me that tree would be mysteriously cut down one night. Well
back to, well, nothing – love it!Bonecrusher on Duty
