It has been a very bad week for the Twitterer in Chief. I am not capable
of feeling any sympathy for this man who is apparently this completely tone
deaf. I think he exists in his own encapsulated life without the ability to see
beyond his own ego. I was actually worried before the pandemic that the economy
would somehow carry him to a second term. The pandemic however is the type of
crisis where you learn a lot about people. It certainly did at work where some
employees surprisingly stepped up and were heroes while others cowered. I’ve
always thought of our president (and he still is despite what memes try to
claim) as the quintessential emperor with no clothes. He doesn’t want to hear
any opinion that is not his own and takes every slight personally.

This week he’s lost out on DACA and gay rights with a supreme court that
leans decidedly in his direction. He’s also proved incapable of rising to the occasion
following the explosion of emotion following the death of George Floyd. We now
have his former national security director, John Bolton, coming forward with a
book which confirms some of what I always thought.
BR3 Getting More Alert Each Day |
He describes the president as “stunningly uninformed, ignorant of basic
facts from geography to history, and easily manipulated by foreign adversaries.”
He goes on to say the commander in chief created a toxic
work environment in the White House West Wing, describing him as
"erratic" and eager to indulge his "reality TV showmanship"
at all costs -- and that even those in Trump's innermost circle "hold a
dim view of him in private." "He second-guessed people's motives, saw
conspiracies behind rocks, and remained stunningly uninformed on how to run the
White House, let alone the huge federal government."
The FBR Has a New Playground! |
In the end even Trump has to realize the trouble his re-election campaign
is in and maybe, just maybe, that he’s not wearing any clothes. One should hope
because an unbalanced president, even for the time he has left, could further
damage the country at a time we need to come together despite his best efforts
to keep us divided. In the end I still believe, on a very basic level, in this
country and what is represents. I likewise don’t believe it would be worthy of
that trust if we couldn’t weather the storm of incompetence our current president
represents. I mean, we survived Jimmy Carter. Go Joe, Go.
