Lull

At The Newly Discovered Coffee Shop
I’m in that fun area between the two phases of our move to the new facility. We finished the first phase ahead of schedule and have everything up and running, admin-wise from the new facility. The storm is inbound though when, over the coming weekend, we move the entire operations department over. As with anything in today’s world the long pole in the tent is technology.
We’ve invested heavily in technology over the past few years which provided a lot of cool benefits for our customers but it comes with a price. We are a lot less agile than we should be. The servers at the new facility have been undergoing the transition and testing for nearly a month now. They won’t be ready for the move so we’ll have to link back to the servers at the old facility for nearly a week after we move and trust to a mediocre 5 Meg link. I’m sure nothing will go wrong (tongue firmly in cheek). I’m really going to need that First Friday beer.
My granddaughter was still in hot pursuit of the cat last night when we FaceTimed. I got a perfunctory smile and she set off searching under beds and couches for her elusive prey. Her dad taught her how to properly dismount from those beds and couches yesterday. This was needed since her go to method before that was to hurl herself off and hope someone was near enough to catch her. This will be a lot safer. Dad also found a nearby coffee shop with a play area for his daughter in a win win scenario for Daddy Daycare.

The Favorite Panamanian also checked in a couple times last night. I fly down on Monday for a short visit and hoped to get by with a small carryon bag because we all know how much fun international travelling with checked bags is. The only problem is that my wife keeps coming up with new items I have to bring down to her. The list now includes two black dresses and pair of stylish ladies shoes. I can only hope I don’t get pulled for an in depth check at security and have to explain that.
Birthday Girl
It is also a certain fair lady from New Hampshire's birthday today which cannot pass unnoticed. The ABFA celebrates her date of birth and it gives me the opportunity to reflect on how blessed the family is to have this young lady join us. She's one of those people that seem to light up a  room when she enters and I know the Favorite Son is completely under her spell, much to his benefit. She was one of the most beautiful brides I've ever seen and I excited about the years ahead for my son with this fabulous young lady at his side, even if she doesn't like horror movies. So happy birthday ABFA, thanks for bringing the needed athleticism to the family.
